Base camps for first responders and clean up contractors were established by our teams in New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Lake Charles, Jennings, and Lafayette. These emergency camps were managed by our team members from Crenshaw. Each site was operated with additional help of 10 to 30 contract workers providing electrical, catering and maintenance services.
Team members converted storage containers into first aid centers and offices, provided generators, air conditioned tents, shower and flush toilet trailers and complete catering to the workers. The last site was closed on November 5 after providing services for more than 30 days.
Crenshaw Enterprises led the effort when the need for assistance was made known. We contacted the State of Louisiana and were quickly invited to participate in the recovery program. The project could not have been done with out the strong support of all of our branches and affiliates.
